Decoding the Civil Services Exams
Both UPSC and MPSC exams follow a rigorous three-stage selection process to identify the best candidates for administrative roles.
UPSC Exam Stages (for IAS, IPS, IFS, etc.)
Stage 1: Prelims
- An objective-type (MCQ) screening test.
- Two papers: General Studies and CSAT.
Stage 2: Mains
- A written, descriptive exam for shortlisted candidates.
- Nine papers covering essays, GS, and optional subjects.
Stage 3: Interview
- A personality test to assess suitability for a career in public service.
MPSC Exam Stages (for State-Level Posts)
Stage 1: Prelims
